This one popped up in my feed about 3 weeks ago and I’ve apparently listened to it ~20 times since then. And when I find a song that keeps my attention through that many listens, the only logical thing to do is to come and blog it for you here :)The artist behind “Are We Dreaming?” claims to draw inspiration from acts like Klaxons and LCD Soundsystem, and flipping through his discography it all kind of makes sense. Except that with this single, there’s something fairly unique to it that doesn’t make me instantly think “LCD SOUNDSYSTEM!” like some of his other songs do. Which is a great thing, right?Matt Gwilt has a decent musical history behind him. Before setting out on his own path, he played for 10 years as a founding member of Leeds band The Sunshine Underground.He’s now got 4 singles under his “solo” belt, with the latest single “Are We Drowning” standing out to me as the most energetic and in your face.
