Kinji – Romp
Sounds like:
Joji, Chet Faker, Mac Miller
What’s so good?
Kinji goes to the local neighbourhood market with “Romp,” and we’re all invited on their beautiful audio journey.
Kinji’s latest EP, Thunderhead, is a joyful and nostalgic sound romp, and nothing is more accurate to that description than “Romp:” a soft-spoken journey through memories, vignettes, and personal audio that creates not only a feeling of excitement in my heart, but also a nostalgia for a memory I don’t have. “Romp” is a home video in audio form, and boy does it hit hard it hits deep, and it holds you in its parental embrace until you can finally breathe again.
If “Romp” is anything to go by, I am so excited for future endeavours beyond Thunderhead by Kinji.
