What’s so good?

Ever heard of Mac DeMarco? Yeah, same. Back in the glory days of 2 and Salad Days, Mac had me in a musical chokehold—my most-played artist by a mile.

Then years past, out of nothing, comes Layten Kramer, sliding into my headphones with some serious Mac-ish energy. He’s not a breakout chart-topper, but he’s got that sunny, coastal rock vibe that feels like catching golden hour on a balcony somewhere, ideally with a cold one in hand.

His track “Employment” gives me those same feels—relaxed, slightly melancholic, and weirdly comforting. It’s like the soundtrack to doing absolutely nothing… but in the most poetic way possible.

He dropped a 2022 EP called Eye to Eye, and while you could argue every track is a vibe, the title song is pure laid-back bliss.
