The Belair Lip Bombs – Back Of My Hand

Sounds like:
Kings of Leon, Momma, Spiritual Cramp, Wet Leg

What’s so good?

Hailing from Frankston, a southern suburb of Melbourne, the Belair Lip Bombs are one of Australia’s most exciting bands. There is an undeniable quality about their music, and their second album Again speaks of a group at the top of their game.

Picking just one track to review was a (next to) impossible task, so we’ve selected “Back of My Hand,” the focus track from Again. Out last week via Jack White’s label Third Man Records, each song on the album feels like it could stand alone, but together the collection of songs is a seamless listen. “Back of My Hand” reminds me of the excitement I got from early Kings of Leon records (in the best way possible,) while still feeling modern and fresh.

There’s a real glut of Australian rock bands on the rise, but the Belair Lip Bombs are one that I’m sure will translate internationally. They’ll have plenty of opportunity to do this over the coming months, having just kicked off their European tour, with a run of shows in early 2026 across Australia and the US in celebration of the band’s new body of work.
