What’s so good?

Dominic Fike officially released the completed version of his long-awaited “White Keys.” Fans leaked an early demo a few months ago, which eventually showed Fike how much his audiences craved the official drop. Before then, we only had a taste of the song from a short clip the artist teased on social media back in 2020.

On November 13th, Fike announced the release and posted the cover art – a screenshot straight from the leaked YouTube video. The track was brought to life with producer John Cunningham, best known for his work with XXXTENTACION. Fike even gave a subtle nod to the late artist in his Instagram caption, reflecting on X’s influence during his upbringing.

“White Keys” is easily replayable and reminds us of Fike’s earlier Florida days. It’s nostalgic and transports you straight to the summer heat. Day-one fans will recognize the lyrical callbacks, including a reference to “King of Everything,” a song from his debut EP Don’t Forget About Me, Demos. He excels at laid-back storytelling with mentions of life before fame, a common theme throughout his discography.

Fike’s never been the type to ignore his past. If anything, he turns it into some of his best work, and “White Keys” is another reminder of why people connect with him so much. If the internet hadn’t dug up that secret track, who knows if we’d have it now?
